Leucorrhoea or Vaginal Discharge is a woman disease marked by unusual white discharge from vagina than normal. The normal vaginal discharge varies differently in females. The main reasons behind leucorrhoea are poor health and poor maintenance of hygiene in genital parts.

Excess secretion of oestrogen hormones especially during puberty and menstrual cycle. This hormone is responsible for the plump vagina lining and elasticity of vagina. An excess secretion oestrogen results into the excess white discharge and thus causes leucorrhea

Hypertrophied endometrial glands with increase vascular activity during pregnancy can also give rise to the problem of leucorrhea

Leucorrhea can also be caused by cervical glands exposed to vagina and lesions such as cervical erosion, chronic cervicitis, mucous polyp etc
