Pre-Puberty - flat breast identified as buds
Puberty -formation of aerola and enhancement in buds and breast
Late Puberty - Glandular tissue and fat increase in the breast, and areola becomes flat
Factors that determine the Size and Shape of breast
Some of the factors which determines the size of the breast can be described on following terms
Hereditary and genes are important factor to determine the size and shape of breast a girl will possibly develop. The breast sizes will have direct affect on girl and the probability is more in accordance with family history
Age is something that is responsible for the development phase of breast. Where in adolescence, a girl have no more breast than just nipples and aerola but a matured girl have fuller and completely developed breast. Till the late puberty different girl goes through different increases in size in their breast development cycle. Other important phase comes with the advancement to the phase of pregnancy which also affects the size of breast. As age advances furtherto stage of menopause that is to say around 50 years, breast undergoes other major changes in terms of shape of breast due to lesser glandular tissues
Glandular Tissue quantity is directly proportional to breasts. Higher the formation of volumes of glandular tissues in breast, higher will be the size of breast.
Hormones secretion in woman also determines the size and shape of breast. Oestrogen, progesterone and prolactin are three hormones in females that largely determine the variation in sizes and appearance of breast in different women. The hormones levels in females are responsible for complex process of production of glandular tissue, menstrual cycle and lactation process (milk production) during pregnancy. Thus with lesser hormonal secretion it is likely that the breast sizes may be lesser in size by 1-2 inches.
Unusual Weight gain or loss also affects the breast size and shape. A healthy woman with large breast if loses enormous weight than she may suffer from sagging of breasts and vice versa
Diet and exercises are very necessary to maintain breast in good size and shape. Breast needs apt amount of nutrition in terms of healthy diet and physical exercise to remain in good form.
Anatomy of Breast: sizes and shapes
Breasts are characterized as mammary glands responsible for lactation process (milk secretion) during child birth. A breast in the order of location from front consist of – Nipple, aerola, fatty tissues, ducts, lobules, muscles and ribs at extreme back. Though males also have breast but women tends to develop them in more prominent feature and male breast is stagnated when child is born. In females, as puberty advances formation of lobules takes place giving breast considerable expansion. Ducts are something that acts as a passageway for milk secretion to the nipples. Nipples are present in both males and females but in females it has a vital function of feeding the baby. The aerola is a darker surface around the nipple and its color ranges from pink to dark brown. The milk is produced by mammary glands dispersed systematically around the breast with 2/3 of tissues at 30mm to nipple region. Apart these ducts, rest of the breast are supported by connective tissues and ligaments.
Depending upon the inborn inclination combined with individual girl tendency, breast varies in different sizes and shapes. Indeed it’s a combination of mammary glands, fatty tissues and lobules that determines the size.
