Tribulus Terrestris : Morphological details
Gokshur is an annually grown herb. The morphological details include -
- Roots - The roots are light brown colored, faintly aromatic, slender and cylindrical in shape
- Stem - The stems of this herb are prostrates or diffused
- Leaves - Leaves appear to be sub-equal, paripinnate in nature, having 6-7 pairs of leaflets. These leaflets are narrow-elliptical in shape having round base and apex.
- Flowers - Flowers are borne solitary or axillary, leaf opposed, pale yellow to yellow colored.
- Fruits - The globose, weapon-wheel shaped fruit consist of 5 parts. Each part is having a pair of hard, long, sharp n rigid spines, one pair slightly extended in length then the other. The surface is covered with many hairs. The transverse section of the fruit shows several seeds.
