Livup capsules: Composition
Andrographis paniculata (Kalmegh) - Kalmegh is an annual herb, extremely bitter in taste, also known as Mah-tita meaning king of bitters. The andrographolite constituents of Kalmegh like diterpene lactones have immune stimulating, liver protective and anti-inflamatory actions.
Eclipta Alba (Bhringraj) - The herb contains wedelolactones and dimethyl wedelolactones. The plant extract inculcated in Livup capsules is useful in cases of hepato and splenic enlargements. The plant juice in combination with aromatics is helpful in treatment of catarrhal jaundice.
Phyllanthus niruri (Bhui amla)-Extracts from Bhumyamlaki have been used in ayurveda since ages for the treatment of Jaundice. Besides treating Jaundice, Bhumyamlaki has several other benefits like treatment of diabetes, flu, asthma and general health. Thus being a herbal ingredient of Livup capsule it helps in all lever disorders.
Solanum nigrum (Makoy) - Also known as kamakachi, comnsists of a- and b- solamargine and solasoline as active constituents, is effective in treatment of liver cirrhosis in addition to its diuretic, laxative and antiseptic properties. Makoy supplements show hepatoprotective activity against the effect of drugs and toxic chemicals.
Emblica officinalis (Amla) – Amla, quite a universal herb in Ayurvedic medicines is yet another ingredient of Livup Capsules. The Indian gooseberry contains the largest amount of Vitamin C. It has antiviral, anti-oxidative, expectorant, anti-bacterial, and resistance building properties that prevent infections and help in treatment of liver related disorders. The herb is an immunity booster and a rejuvenator which supports the vital activities.
Boehavia diffusa (Punarnava) - Roots of the herb are rich in Vitamins A1, B1, C2, D, E, and F and are credited with analgesic, diuretic, laxative, anti-convulsant and expectorant properties.
Besides the above ingredients, Livup Capsules also contains some amounts of Polycaupea collymbosalam (Pittpapda), Glycirrhyza glabra(licorice), Piccorrhiza kurroa(kutki) and Terminalia arjuna (Arjun). All these herbs have their own significance and Livup capsules are a combination of all of these.
