A lot of emphasis is given to right type of diet and exercise regime in order to delay aging. Vitamin E, A, C and B-complex family help in skin renewal and delay process of aging. Zinc and selenium participate in production of collagen and help in maintaining optimal elasticity of the skin.

But is the supplementation of these nutrients enough? Here are few additional methods to help you have a firm skin.

Facial Yoga

Facial yoga exercises are easy to do. Regular exercises help in reducing sagging of the skin and fine lines. One exercise is to inhale through your mouth and fill it as if stuffed with air. Wait for 60 seconds then exhale the air slowly through the nostrils. Do this 5 times in a day. This helps in reducing the fine lines.

Another exercise is to open your mouth and stretch tongue outwards as much as you can. Keep your eyes wide open. This removes the toxins from the eyes.

One may also do palming to prevent sagging around the eyes. For this, rub your hands together vigorously so as to produce warmth. Apply the warmth on your eyes. Do this 10 to 15 times. This simple exercise helps in giving relief in stress induced headache.

Facial Massage

Massage is a good way to improve circulation and help cell renewal. Best time for facial massage is right before bedtime. Clean the skin completely using cleansing milk (if skin is dry) or rose water (if skin is oily). Rose water can be used to clean the normal skin too.

Use first three fingers to massage the face and the neck area. Start by lifting the cheeks upwards by applying slight pressure. One may use thick moisturizer for dry skin and for oily skin few drops of olive oil mixed with lemon juice can serve the purpose.

Face Masks

Face masks help in giving an instant lift to the face. Regular use makes the skin tight and reduces wrinkles. Soak 2 almonds overnight. Grind them and add rose water and honey to produce a smooth paste.

Apply this for 20 minutes. Wash with tap water. Do not use warm water for the rinse. Mixture of onion juice and honey, taken in equal quantities, provides a firm and blemish free skin.
