Things to Remember
The skin faces two types of aging. One is intrinsic aging and second is photo aging. The intrinsic aging is genetically controlled. Skin near lips and eyes are the first to show the first signs of wrinkles. Always wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the harmful effects of UV rays. The main reason of wrinkles around the eyes is the stress caused to them in the bright light. Wear a hat whenever you are on beach or spending days outdoors.
Use a good sunscreen lotion and apply it every hour when you are outdoors. The measurement of SPF is different in US and Europe. So, you must consult the dermatologist to choose the right sunscreen for yourself. Try to stay indoors and avoid the midday sun.
Frequent facial expressions increase chances of wrinkle development. It has been found in a research that frowning and smiling equally contribute in formation of wrinkles. So watch out how often you give a certain facial expression. Try keeping a straight face.
Never leave your skin unattended. Follow routine of cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing strictly. Avoid tanning beds. Double the use of moisturizer at night.
Do not let your weight fluctuate much. Try to keep a steady weight. Sudden loss of body mass may cause loss of hydration.
Increase intake of antioxidants. Eat fresh fruit and green vegetables and cut down completely on trans fats.
Mix papaya, honey and milk to prepare a fine face pack. Apply on clean face and let it work for 20 to 30 minutes to wash off with tap water. If you can tolerate the smell then mix 2 egg whites in 1 tbsp of honey and apply on face and neck.
Avoid such face packs which feel tight to your skin. Drink herbal teas like green tea and chamomile tea as an alternative to aerated drinks and other beverages.
