Many women realize during pregnancy that they are suffering from breast cancer. This complicates the pregnancy. Therefore, if you are planning for pregnancy, do get yourself diagnosed for breast cancer beforehand.
Signs and symptoms of carpel’s syndrome increases during pregnancy. It is a disease in which there are repetitive wrist movements. Due to hormonal changes, there is increased retention of water in the body. This raises the pressure on the median nerve which works across the wrist through the carpal tunnel. So, do take necessary precautions.
Coccydynia may become worse during pregnancy. The problem becomes visible in the third semester of the pregnancy when positioning of the baby brings pressure of the coccyx bone. Hence the bone may become painful and irritated during pregnancy.
Ectopic pregnancy is yet another complication which may cause internal hemorrhaging and lead to death of the foetus. It usually happens when the fertilization of the ovum occurs outside the uterus. Symptoms include experiencing stabbing pain and cramps in lower abdomen. Certain factors increase occurrence of ectopic pregnancy. Thee include previous use of IUD (intra-uterine devices), having history of pelvic infection or tubal absorbability.
Headaches may get aggravated during pregnancy due to stressed muscles. But these respond well to chiropractic care. Good news for migraine patients is that they will experience lesser number of headaches during this period due to alternations in hormones.
Eclampsia is a fatal condition which occurs is second half of the pregnancy. No etiology (factors that may influence occurrence of the condition in a population) is known but there is a strong link between toxemia of pregnancy and poor nutrition.
Consumption of certain substances complicates the pregnancy. These include certain acne drugs, anti-epileptic drugs, aspirin, smoking, caffeine, antibiotics and cardiovascular drugs.
