What Are Zits?
Zits are nothing but type of pimples which when popped ooze out pus from them. They occur when oil glands get clogged up. Any person of any age group can get affected by them.
Causes of Zits
The main cause of zits is the presence of bacteria in the skin pores. This bacterium produces enzymes that are used to break down the sebum oil produced by the oil gland and in this process the gland gets chocked. Thus, the enzyme shows a red spot or inflammation, which is generally known as a zit.
Zits are also caused by infections and stress also contributes to them. If your body has an infection it would show it in some form and sometimes zits are produced.
Zits Prevention
One can prevent these zits by following few simple things. Always wash your face four to five times in a day. It is good to wash the face using a gentle face wash and cold water. Scrub your face once in four days to remove the excess of oil and dirt, which does not get washed off in daily cleaning. Some areas of the face like forehead, nose and chin are oilier than others, and so we need to clean them with extra care.
Keep your body toxic free. This can be done by drinking plenty of water, which would wash away the excess of toxins in the body through urine and sweat. Avoid eating oily and fatty food. As such it has nothing to do with zits but eating and drinking can affect the skin.
Home Remedies for Zits
Cucumber is found to be very effective in treating zits or blackheads. Grate the cucumber and apply on the face, neck and back. Wash it off after sometime. You would feel fresh and it will also cure your zits.
Garlic is also considered good for treating zits. Make a paste of garlic and apply on the affected area. Let it dry and wash of. Do it regularly for a month and see the desirable changes.
Zits can be treated using coriander and mint juice. Apply both the juices mixed with a pinch of turmeric. Do it before going to bed at night.
