Vitamins for Hair Growth

May 15, 2009

Healthy and long hair are not only a pleasure to watch but also something that the holder should be proud of. Maintaining healthy hair is not easy. With our extreme work schedules and competitive lives, we have developed extremely poor eating habits. This has not only affected our health in general, but has also made our hair thinner and fall early.

A single follicle on our scalp grows by approx. 0.35 mm daily. If proper hair care is not taken, then it may lead to less growth of hair. Sometimes, the follicles may even go dead, thus nullifying the chance of hair re-growth. Few factors that are dangerous to healthy hair are constant sun exposure, cigarette smoke, alcohol, improper diet, lack of sleep, etc. All these factors make our hair dull and lifeless.

Consuming vitamins in proper ratio daily can not only give you a good health, but also shining and healthy hair. Its a simple equation, that if you eat well balanced diet, your health remains in good condition. And if you health is in good health, then it will show its effects on your hair, skin and life as a whole. So the point is to consume vitamins daily, via dietary supplements or vitamin pills.

The most important vitamins for healthy hair are Biotin (Vit H), Panthothenic Acid (Vit B5) and Folic Acid (Vit B9). Consuming these vitamins will not only make your hair long and strong, but will also speed up their growth rate. Other vitamins like Vit A and Vit B-complex will also help in the prevention of hair loss.

For healthy hair, consuming vitamins through natural sources is a better option than using various shampoos or undergoing expensive treatments. A healthy and balanced diet that is rich in vitamins and minerals keeps ailments away from you and keeps you feeling fresh. And this great feeling reflects on your hair as well. So adopt proper nutrition in your diet and see how people get envy about your long and beautiful hair.
