Vitamins for Great Skin

Vitamins are essential for almost every major function in the body. The principle factor of ageing occurs due to absence of some crucial vitamins and minerals; the theory has been proven and practiced.

Skin health solely depends on vitamins and minerals. But topical application alone is not enough. Skin needs to be fed from inside. It therefore becomes very important to provide vitamins and minerals for optimal healing and rejuvenation of the skin.

Here are the most essential vitamins required for complete skin care. Vitamin B is required for preventing excessive oiliness of the skin. It protects skin against dermatitis and blemishes.

Easy sources of vitamin B include bananas, leafy green vegetables, fish and dairy products. Vitamin C helps in healing of cuts, bruises and other skin conditions.

Vitamin C can easily be obtained from tomatoes, berries, broccoli and citrus fruits.

Vitamin D moisturizes the skin and helps in rejuvenation of tissues. It can be obtained from liver and fortified milk. It also helps in absorption of calcium.

Vitamin E is the best possible antioxidant for the skin. It is available in wheat germ oil, whole grains, and fresh green leafy vegetables.

It nourishes skin and provides moisture. It even heals cuts and other marks of the skin.

There is an essential fatty acid which is called vitamin F. It can be obtained from sunflower oil, black currant oil and evening primrose oil. It is very effective in treatment of acne. Another vitamin for healing of the skin is Vitamin K .

It fights ageing and helps repair of the broken capillaries. It even heals development of acne related problems. It is found in all green leafy vegetables. Vitamin A is also required for treatment of acne and psoriasis.

Vitamin A is a major ingredient in almost all skin care products and helps in treatment of fine lines.

If your diet is unable to provide you with all these vitamins then
you must opt for supplementation.
