Uses of Olive Oil
Olive has always been used for cooking because it is very light. In the same way it also has some importance in beautification. This is because olive oil is rich in squalane, which penetrates into the skin without making it oily. It also contains vitamins that are healthy for the skin.
Some of the important uses of olive oil are listed below other than cooking. Olive oil mixed with vinegar and applied to the sunburn area proves to be very beneficial. A warm bath is also good after applying this mixture.
Mix olive oil with almond oil on the scalp for 5 minutes. This would start burning and then wash off. This would help in cleaning the dandruff from the hair. Also applying the oil at night and washing in the morning would make them extra soft.
Applying little olive oil to the chapped lips, hands and foot is also great. It makes them soft and smooth. Apply it on knees and elbows this would make them soft. Dip your nails in olive oil for some time and see how they shine and doing it regularly would make them strong too.
You can make a wooden polish out of it by mixing one part lemon juice and three parts of olive oil. It can also be used to remove the paints or other marks from hands and clothes.
Massaging babies with olive oil is also considered good. Taking a sip of olive oil before sleeping lubricates the throat muscles and thus reduces snoring problem. Heat a little oil and rub on the outer surface of the ear to reduce that bad earache.
Olive oil is a natural moisturizer. It makes the skin glow if used constantly on the skin. It has some important radicals that reduce skin wrinkles and also skin cancer.
An overall result defines that olive oil should be included in day-to-day activities to make yourself healthy and beautiful.
