Unusual Behavior In Children
Think what would happen if your brain does not respond to whatever happens around you. It is so difficult to handle the situation. Same is the case when a child’s brain is not working properly. This state with certain different symptoms is called autism.
Very rarely some kids suffer from this disorder called autism. It is a state in which a child does not behave normally like other kids. He or she cannot respond to the things normally. Such children cannot play, talk and even express themselves like normal kids. They even cannot react to the situations and normal sounds also appear very harsh to them, so they keep hands on their ears. They cannot feel anything not even if something pricks them.
Kids with autism want the same thing to happen again and again. They don’t like changes. They repeat certain words again and again and also play with a specific toy only. If something is changed they get upset and start crying.
The brain in human beings is so complicated with so many nerves in it that it is difficult to know the cause. Till date the cause is not known. But yes it runs in families and also some doctors say that it can be due to less development of the brain in the foetus itself.
A child is said to be autistic if he or she is not able to make friends, can’t converse with any body, uses unusual language, repeats words, has restricted interests and cannot change the normal routine.
There is no cure for autism. It is treated by verbal communication with the kids. These kids are given special training sessions, which help them to build social and language skills. Parents are also trained how to tackle these kids. Some anti-depressants are given to them to cope up with anxiety symptoms when they reach their peak. Some other treatment options are also available but these should be adopted with certain precautions.
Investigations are being done on animals to treat autism. Studies are being done in studying the brain conditions that leads to autism.
