Troubled From Snoring?

Everybody can snore. Some do it everyday and some occasionally. Some people snore very loudly, which may cause irritation to the partner. Sleeping in the other room is not a solution to the problem.

Causes

The cause of snoring is the presence of extra tissues in the throat that are called floppy tissues. They vibrate when you breathe and make sound. Sometimes, the tongue comes in between the flow of air during breathing, which can be the other cause of snoring.

If a person snores with an open mouth then this is a symptom of presence of more tissues in the throat. But when one is snoring with a closed mouth, it is due the tongue.

Men snore more than women. You know why? This is because men have a narrow air passage than women. On the same pattern, as one becomes old then also the air passage becomes narrow which causes snoring.

Smoking is other cause of snoring as it causes nasal congestion. If one has asthma or cold then also he or she can snore. In some people the cause may be hereditary even.

Sleeping posture also contributes to snoring. When you sleep with flat back, the skin of the throat relaxes and thus causes air blockage. As weight is the cause for many diseases, it also contributes to snoring.

Treating Snoring

You can stop snoring, if you keep the causes in mind. So sleep sideways, lose weight, limit smoking and alcohol consumption and keep you nasal passage clean.

There are many anti-snoring devices present in the market that would awake you when you start snoring. These can be irritating at times, as they don’t let you sleep.

Players wear a mask around the nose while playing as this mask helps them to breathe properly. You can even use this while sleeping and that would help you not to snore.

There is a very simple exercise for stop snoring, which you can do before going to bed. Close your mouth and move your mouth as you are chewing something with lips closed. Initially do it for few seconds and afterwards increase the time. By this you would make the muscles in the throat to contract, which in turn open your air passage and you stop snoring.
