Treating Rheumatism
Rheumatism is a term used for pain and weakness in any part of the body. The most common sign of rheumatism is swelling of the muscle, joint or tendons.
Symptoms of rheumatism
The starting of rheumatism is characterized by fever, pain and intense soreness of the part involved. Sometimes the weight of blood is also not tolerated and causes pain. If the disease is not treated on time it becomes chronic which later on causes stiffness of the muscle.
Causes of rheumatism
Some foods like meat, white bread, sugar and refined cereals leave large amount of toxic products in the blood, which is the chief cause of rheumatism. These toxic materials accumulate around the joints and bony structures.
Some medical conditions like tonsils, infection in teeth and gall bladder infection also leads to rheumatism. It is aggravated by drinking or exposure to cold water.
Home remedies for rheumatism
There are various home remedies for the same. Potato juice is very effective for this condition. Take two to three spoons of juice from grated potatoes and have it before the meal. Potato juice helps in reducing the toxic condition of the body.
Juice of bitter gourd is also said to be very beneficial for treating rheumatism. Take the juice and mix honey it in and drink it for at least three to four months daily and see the magic.
Juice of lemon is also good. Taking carom seeds with water early in the morning empty stomach is the best treatment for rheumatism.
Walnuts should be taken at least half a dozen in a day as a treatment for rheumatism.
Hot packs are also beneficial to reduce the pain. If the condition is worse, you should undergo enema. This would empty the bowel and the toxins in the body also. Light exercising and fresh air and deep breathing should be practiced.
Some diet restriction should be followed. The patient should be kept on orange juice and water diet for 3 to 4 days. Then some light diet should be started with orange or grape fruit in breakfast, some fresh green salad in lunch and dinner only with some boiled vegetables.
