Treat Peptic Ulcer at Home
Peptic ulcer disease (PUD) is characterized by erosion of one or more portions in GIT due to gastric juices. Signs and symptoms include acute burning sensation in GIT, nausea accompanied by vomiting, bloating, severe abdominal pain. The pain usually occurs 3 hours after the meal.
If it is a duodenal ulcer it will be relieved with food and a gastric ulcer will be worsened by food. The disease usually occurs to people who are more sensitive in nature. Cold milk helps in providing instant relief to burning in chest due to ulcer. Do not add sugar. Drinking cold coconut water does wonders for PUD patients.
Soak 15 grams of leaves of wood apple overnight in 250 ml of water. Strain it and drink this every morning empty stomach.
Often acidity symptoms are ignored which need to be treated immediately. Water is a universal neutralizer. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water helps in neutralizing the acids in the GIT. Eat a banana everyday. It is a good remedy to treat over secretion of gastric acids. Cold banana shake is equally beneficial.
Juice of carrots and cabbage is helpful in treating PUD. Take 250 gram of both cabbage and carrots and boil them in 1000 ml of water. When it reduces to half let it to cool and drink 250 ml each day. Drinking mint tea and green tea with afternoon meals have shown good results with PUD patients. You may prepare tea from fenugreek leaves. These seeds become mucilaginous when they come in contact with water. This helps in healing the ulcer.
Use lime juice as and when you can. It is works well in treating the juices. You may drink lime juice (without sugar) or may sprinkle the juice all over your salad. Proteins present in milk of almonds binds with the acids in the stomach. The milk can be extracted by blanching 5 almonds each day.
Meals of a PUD patient must be minimal in spices.
