Tips for a Good Body Posture
Long sitting hours, too much stress on your back and lack of exercise takes away the natural curve that women have. Some simple tips and easy exercises can help you get back the curvy posture.Choice of Chair
You sit all day long on your chair so it better be useful in improving your posture. Choose a chair that supports your back and does not have a stiff seat. It should allow your feet to touch the ground and keep the upper body at a right angle (almost) to the lower body (up till knees).
Do not choose a chair which makes your butt sink into the seat. It is not good for your back.
Be aware of your Body
Be aware of your body and observe yourself while you are standing or walking. Do not stand with your legs apart. Keep your feet somewhat together while you are standing. Keep your tummy slightly sucked in and keep the chin straight. Some women have the habit of standing while allowing their stomach to bulge forward.
Kindly make the changes now, before it is too late.
Exercises
Side Stretch
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Raise your arms in front of you, at shoulder level. Twist your upper body to the right side while slowly breathing in. Stay in the position by counting till 10. Slowly release the breath and come back to the original position.
Repeat by twisting to the left side. Remember, not to move your feet.
Back Stretch
Stand straight. Hold ankle of your right leg with your right hand, from behind by folding your leg at the knee. Raise your left arm upwards, behind your back by breathing in. You will feel a stretch in your abdomen and side waist.
Remain in the position as long as you can. Repeat it with the other leg.
This exercise helps in giving a curve to the spine.
Sleeping Position
Try to sleep sideways for a good posture. Sleeping on the tummy or on the back is not recommended for a good posture.
Avoid wearing Heels
They may temporarily make your posture appear attractive but wearing heels for very long hours puts too much pressure on your back, hip and legs. It is too bad for a good body posture.
