Sanitation and Sanitary Napkins During Menstruation
Regular mensturations are a presentation of normal reproductive system of women. The cycle occurs every 28th to 30th day and lasts from 3 to 7 days, depending upon the genetic and physical factors of women. These days are of utmost importance for women since her body is at its weakest phase.
It therefore has been suggested since ages by elders not to act vigorously, to eat fresh food and keep calm. Although the loss of blood during an average cycle is 50 ml but more health loss may occur
if proper care is not taken. The point of extreme consideration are good hygienic habits and good optimal choice of sanitary napkins. Common errors done during periods are skipping changing of the pad.
The pad must be changed within regular interval to decrease the growth of bacteria in that region.
One must never let the wet pad remain unchanged. This might cause slight inflammation in that region which may disturb your normal sitting and walking habit. Bathing must be done using a loofa or a sponge.
The sanitary napkins should never be stored in bathrooms. The reason is bathrooms, with their wet and humid atmosphere, are perfect place for bacteria and other micro-organisms to grow. They may be stored in closets in your room.
Expiry date often goes unnoticed for sanitary napkins. However, the near a pack is to its expiry, poorer
it is in quality. Also, sanitary napkins must never be purchased for its attractive look.
A cotton net sheet is most essential part of it which prevents wetting of the skin in contact. Do not experiment with a new sanitary napkin in market unless you are sure for its quality standards. If you know well that you are going to be menstruating for about half of your life, you might as well take it a little seriously.
