Being short tempered may cause long term adverse effects to the health. Conditions such as high blood pressure, PMS, etc may make you short tempered.

Persistent stress, anxiety and irritability can seriously damage heart, lungs and kidney. Here are some herbal remedies to take care of your short temper.

Kava is one miracle herb. It has the same sedative (calming) effect as benzodiazepine. Additionally, it helps in treating insomnia. The herb can be taken as a daily tonic and it does not cause any physical dependence.

Drinking Chamomile tea as an alternative to tea and coffee helps in relaxing your muscles. It tastes great and can be accompanied with decaffeinated green tea.

Horsetail herb is a powerful remedy for stress and depression. The herb is a source of silica and calcium and helps in detoxification of kidneys. It is useful for all types of nervous system disorders.

Daily supplementation of ashwagandha keeps stress away. An anti-inflammatory and a powerful immunity booster, the herb has well known anti-ageing properties.

Breathing exercises are best way to relieve stress and improve tolerance towards odd situations in life. When ever anger approaches you, try taking a deep breath. Inhale through one nostril by inflating the other nostril will thumb. Leave and inflate the first nostril and exhale through the second. This is a yoga exercise called Pranayam.

Ginseng helps in relieving fatigue, stress and revitalizes the body energy. It strengthens the immunity and helps in overcoming an irritable behavior.

Oil of oregano is an effective remedy in dealing with stress related irritability. The lavender is not used just for its fragrance but is also helpful in headaches, fatigue, stress and anxiety. Bath with lavender based body wash and use lavender based talcum powder for feeling extra calm all day long.

The tips of your fingers bear points for acupressure which provide relief to brain. Use your thumb to gently apply pressure on tips of finger of the other hand. You may do this as often as you can.

Many people do not comb their hair often. Better would be the circulation of blood, less stressed you will feel. Try combing your hair deep till scalp every evening and morning.
