Remedies For Blackheads
Our skin is full of pores. When dirt, oil, germs and other impurities get into these pores and come in contact with air, oxidization takes place leading to formation of yellow black bumps that appear on the skin. These bumps are called blackheads (Comedones). They commonly appear on face but may appear on chest, back, legs and other body parts also.
To prevent blackheads your stomach should be clear, food items responsible for constipation or other stomach ailments should be avoided. Avoid junk food, sugar and sugar products, meat, strong tea and coffee. Add fruit or fruit juice and plenty of water in your diet.
To prevent the blackheads from occurring, there are various home remedies. One must wash face atleast 4-5 times in a day with plain water or mild soap. Squeezing or picking of blackheads leads to scars.
Regular scrubbing with scrub paste and unboiled milk can be done so as to remove the dead skin.
Boil 5-6 cups of water with lemon juice and apply regularly over the affected area. Applying grinded cucumber, sandalwood and rose water is also helpful.
Beat an egg, add one-tablespoon honey and apply it on face. This also prevents the formation of blackheads.
Steam the face with lemon peel and mint leaves in water for few minutes and rub the blackheads firmly with a towel after steaming. Then wash the face with chilled water.
Prepare a paste of fenugreek seeds and apply it over the face every night and wash it off with warm water after 20 minutes.
Make a paste of black pepper and curd. Apply this over the blackheads and allow it dry. Then clean your face with cold water.
Another effective home remedy for blackheads is mixing hot water and one teaspoonful of epsom salt. Mix well, allow the mixture to cool down and then apply to the affected area. Gently remove with a clean cloth when it dries.
