But in case of migraine the headache may become worse. Here are a few remedies to quickly fix the headache to keep up with fast paced life of today.
Massages for Headache
Foot massage is a great way to get relief from any type of headache. Soak your feet in hot water. Temperature should be as hot as you can bear. At the same time apply cotton towel soaked in ice cold water on your forehead, temples and back of the head.
The ice compress on the forehead will constrict the blood vessels and reduce the blood volume. These dilations in feet and constriction inside the head help in reduction of the pain. Try to sleep after this remedy for best results.
Those who do not have problem of high blood pressure can greatly benefit from head massage. Do not apply oil in excess. Take a few drops of oil of brahmi and apply gentle pressure with pads of your fingers.
About 5 cm from the base of the skull from where the spinal code meets the skull, apply gentle pressure on the indentations present on either side. These are trusted acupressure massage points.
The base of the third finger on either foot is another useful point. Press points with your fingers. It will pain there unless your headache is gone. Once pain at this point is gone, headache will be cured.
Herbs for Help
A few drops of lavender oil can be used for gentle massage of the temples. The herb helps in relaxation of the nervous system. You may prepare an herbal tea made from linden flower, chamomile and ginger root.
