Sexual intercourse is not just a great way to work out together and burn off those extra calories but it helps one to be in shape and remain fit and alert. But it has significant health benefits as well. Regular sex can actually add years to your life.

According to a research regular sex boosts production of HDL and reduces levels of LDL hence maintaining a healthy cholesterol ratio. It is thus good for your cardiovascular health. It has been observed that sex reduces risk of stroke and heart attack considerably.

After orgasm, the levels of hormone oxytoxin increases by 5 times. The hormones thus increase production of endorphins (natural painkillers). This help in bringing relief to headaches, body ache and symptoms of PMS. Additional advantage of oxytocin hormone is that it helps in dealing with stress in a better way.

One of the major after effects of sex on body is that oxygen intake by the organ and cells increase significantly. This is good news for those concerned for their heart.

Certain secretions from the prostate gland are unhealthy and effect health of the gland. With regular sex these secretions are removed from the gland and thus provide protection against prostrate –related disorders. Another advantage to men is that it increases levels of testosterone thus keeping muscles and bones strong.

Immunoglobulin A antibody plays a vital role in keeping seasonal infections like cough, cold and flu away. Sex increases production of IGA and thus increases immunity.

Believe it or not but sex does act like a powerful antioxidant. It helps in beautifying the skin, improves blood circulation makes you look younger. The best part is it helps you sleep better. Equal advantage is of masturbation.

Passive sex is not as beneficial as vigorous sex is. The very act of intercourse is what makes sex so beneficial not just for physical health but mental health too. Couple who have a satisfying intercourse at least twice every week are said to be more satisfied in all aspects with each other than others.
