Recipes for Homemade Shampoo and Conditioner

An easier options is going back to the basics, homemade cosmetics prove to be more beneficial and less costly too.
Homemade shampoos and conditioners are effortless and easy to make. They only contain natural ingredients and are more gentle to your hair. They are also easy to store, just retain t empty shampoo bottles you have, rinse and re-use for your homemade one.

Rosemary Shampoo
Rosemary is a much known substance that stimulates hair follicles and also promotes hair growth. In addition, it is used to treat dry scalp and dandruff. Rosemary is beneficial to slow down the process of graying and provides strength to weak hair.
Ingredients: 1/2oz Rosemary, 1/2oz Sage, 1/2oz Nettles, 4oz Castile Soap and 3-4 drops Lavender Oil.
Prepare a mixture of lavender oil and herbs in a jar and seal it. In a saucepan, boil two cups of water. Add three tablespoonful of herb mixture to boiling water and remove the saucepan. Leave the solution for 30-45 minutes to instill and cool down. Strain the mixture in a jug and pour 2oz into a bottle. Fill the remaining bottle with the castile soap. Cork the bottle and shake it well.
Dry Shampoo (for Oily Hair)
Cornmeal is used as an ingredient in dry shampoos since it is known to remove oil from the hair. Orris root is used to remove oils like cornmeal and also adds a violet, floral fragrance to the hair.
Ingredients: 1 tablespoonful Cornmeal, 1 tablespoonful Finely Ground Almonds and 1 tablespoonful Powdered Orris Root.
Mix these ingredients in a bowl. Now, apply this mixture over your hair, ensuring even exposure from root to tip. To remove oils, gently massage into the scalp. Don’t over stimulate as it may encourage oil production. Remove the shampoo with a natural, fine-bristled brush.
