Preventing Fungal Rashes
Fungal rash is caused by the germs that are produced by a fungal infection. These rashes are neither dangerous nor contagious. But overlooking them can be harmful.
Causes
There can be a number of causes for fungal infection. Some of them are diabetes or weakened immune system caused by some serious disease like cancer and aids etc. If there are cuts on your body then also this infection can go deep inside the skin and make the infection worse.
Risk Factors
People who perspire a lot and also people with less mobility are more prone to these fungal infections. Also people who are bed-ridden due to some circumstances are also prone to fungal infections. Sometimes, the use of new skin care products, which are not of good quality, can also lead to theses infections.
Symptoms
There are various types of fungal infections with different symptoms. They are basically blood red in color with itchy skin and burning. Sometimes the skin becomes scaly and some infections may also cause hair loss. This infection also spreads very easily. The center is comparatively less red in color than the outer ring of the infected area.
Prevention
The very basic things to be kept in mind to avoid any type of infection are to dry your skin properly after bath and try not to use highly perfumed soaps and deodorants. Do not wear synthetic cloths when there is lot of humidity in the atmosphere. Always keep the groin area dry. Try not to use deodorants in that area or else use powders as they absorb the moisture from the skin. Apply some anti fungal creams over the region.
As the infection begins to heal do not stop using your creams otherwise the infection can reoccur when it fully goes away. Never rub the rash with a cloth but use a cotton pad to clean it. Never share your towel with the infected person.
If the infection still persists then consult your doctor. Some antibiotics would be given to heal the infection fast.
