Life is the invisible power that controls the activities and functioning of an organism. Health is a balanced condition of living organism in which the vital functions of the body are in total harmony with each other.

Disease is an abnormal process, which changes the conditions of life and is opposite to the normal functioning of the body.

Illness is a state of poor health in terms of physical, mental and social factors. It is a perception by the patient due to the presence of some disease in the body.

Physical illness is the condition of the body in which one has pain, discomfort, distress or dysfunction. It includes injury trauma, disability, infection or structural variation. Mental illness includes emotional instability, behavioral irregularity or impaired cognition. Social illness is related to social, political, economic and environmental conditions.

As long as an individual lives in a favorable environment, he reacts to the external and internal stimuli, in an orderly manner. If he violates the laws of life or comes in contact with some unfavorable circumstances, he suffers and gets sick.

We all must preserve our health, as it is the most precious gift of god to us. It is the only attribute that would always be a friend till the last breath. We must know the impact of the food that we eat, the environment that we live in, the seasons that change often and the emotions that fill up every now and then. We must learn how to nourish our soul and keep it fit and fine.

An understanding of the diet and various health ailments affected by the dietary habits such as arthritis, gout, acne, constipation, asthma etc can do benefit a lot.

Avoiding sedentary lifestyle and adopting a health conscious vision towards life can be very beneficial for all of us. Exercise and a simple walk daily can be the initial steps towards the goal of achieving a healthy life.

As said, prevention is better than cure. We must prevent the onset of disease rather than treating it later on. Some simple practices can improve our health in a drastic manner.
