Natural Laxatives: Relief From Constipation

Minimal physical activity, improper meals, pregnancy and certain health conditions may lead to constipation. Natural laxatives help you relieve constipation without any side effects.

The purpose of any laxative is to soften the stools so that they are able to pass through the GIT easily and thus get excreted out. Natural laxatives are rich in soluble fibers. These fibers can easily absorb water and help in softening the stools.

There are certain food stuff that you may use daily so that you don`t face the trouble at all. Drink milk. If you do not like the flavor of the milk then add mango, strawberries or bananas to it to make a tasty milk shake. Chocolate itself is a good laxative. Drinking hot chocolate once in a while will satisfy your sweet tooth and also do a good job for your bowels.

You may simply substitute a meal with fruit salads. Certain fruits like grapes, bananas, papayas, mangoes are natural laxatives. Peaches, pears, prunes and plums also come in this category. An occasional alcoholic drink can increase movement of the stools across the bowels. In juices, we have apple juice, aloe vera juice and sugar cane juice.

Coffee, a warm cup of tea with lemon also helps relieve constipation. Try to add more spices to your daily meals. Spices also function as natural laxatives. Include olives, watercress, molasses, rhubarb, parsley and cabbage in your meals.

You may keep almonds, dried apricots and raisins in your pocket. Drink lots of water so as put push the stools ahead. Drinking 1 liter of water early morning empty stomach helps in easy excretion of stools form the body. Eat meals in proper intervals.

When you have constipation, try to avoid rice and meat. Persistent stress and day to day work pressure may cause constipation. Try to keep a positive attitude towards life. Try to do at least 30 minutes of some physical activity daily.
