Methods To Clean Ears
Keeping ears clean is not just part of personal hygiene but it keeps a check on any form of abnormal accumulation inside the ear. Accumulation of ear wax is a natural phenomenon.
Many people have such less accumulation of wax that they hardly ever have to use special thing like ear buds, etc. to clean their ears. Wiping inside of ear with the smallest finger of the hand gets the work done for them. For others, here is how to clean your ears.
The best time to clean your ears is during a bath. Put ear removal wax in your ears before taking the bath. Then clean it off during the bath. The most common way to clean ears is by using cotton buds. Wet one side of bud. Put it in the ear and hydrate the wax to be removed easily. Use the dry side to finish cleaning. Use more buds if you want but keep cleaning until the bud appears to be clean.
Do not use match sticks covered with cotton to clean your ears. They may damage the sensitive tissues of the ear.
Cleaning Ears Using Syringe
Ear syringes are also available to clean the ears. They come as ear wax removing kit. In order to use this syringe you will need to fill it with hydrogen peroxide. You may also use the cleansing solution given in the ear wax removal kit. The solution often needs 3 to 4 per cent of dilution before use.
Insert the syringe inside the ear by tilting your head in such a way that the ear faces upwards. Squirt a few drops inside the ear. The solution/ hydrogen peroxide will react with the wax and produce a popping sound.
After the fizzing sound has stopped, let your head become straight to allow the liquid to drain out of the ear. Repeat the process for the second ear.
Reasons for Excess Ear Wax
In rare cases, excess wax formation may occur. This may be due to overproduction of cerumen due to shock in the ear canal or due to some infection of skin or bones. Problem of excess ear wax can be treated with surgery. The surgery is done only if the wax blocks the ear canal.
