Managing Hypotension
Blood pressure is the force by which the blood flows in the blood vessels. Blood pressure constitutes the vital signs of life that includes heartbeat, breathing rate as well as temperature.
Flow of blood can become high or low due to certain circumstances. When the blood flow becomes slow then it is said that one is having low blood pressure (hypotension) and when the flow of blood becomes high it is said that one is having high blood pressure (hypertension).
In low blood pressure there is less flow of blood in the blood vessels. Due to this less amount of oxygen reaches the vital organs such as heart, brain and kidneys. By this organs cannot work properly and hence can be permanently damaged.
Causes of Hypotension
The causes of low blood pressure can be emotional disability, faulty nutrition, and loss of blood or internal bleeding due to some accident or disease.
Symptoms of Hypotension
Symptoms of low blood pressure include dizziness, fatigue, weakness and lethargy. Some people can even faint if the blood pressure becomes very low.
Treatment of Hypotension
There is no treatment for low blood pressure. You can only take a healthy diet to avoid this. Some home remedies can also be tried.
Whenever you feel that your blood pressure is going low then prepare a cup of coffee and drink it or you can eat a chocolate too.
Drinking lots of water is also good to maintain your blood pressure level. Beetroot juice is also good for people suffering from low blood pressure.
Epsom salt bath is very effective and easy home remedy for this. Do it before going to bed.
Soak 6-7 almonds overnight. Peel them in the morning and have them with lukewarm milk. Raisins also help to make the blood pressure high. Include salt in your diet. Go for milk and fruit diet for some weeks until your blood pressure becomes normal.
Take rest and do not overexert yourself. Do light exercises and slow walking. Sweating also causes water and salt loss that makes the blood pressure low.
