Major Men’s Health problems

There are four major problem areas when we talk about men’s health. First are heart diseases, then prostate problems, testicular problems and sexual health of men. These problems are exclusive to men and men must be made aware about them.
Coronary heart disease is at the verge of taking face as an epidemic disease. With hectic life-styles it becomes very important to adapt in order to prevent these life-style health disorders. The risk increases if you have a family history of heart diseases. High blood pressure too is part of heart diseases.
Untreated high blood pressure may lead to Kidney failure, stoke and even heart attack. In order to maintain a healthy heart you must quit smoking if you are a chain smoker (also otherwise). Regular exercising like long walks and cardio aid in maintaining optimal health. Alcohol is good for heart but only to the prescribed limit.
Coming to the Prostate helath, enlarged prostate and prostate cancer are another threat to men`s helath,enlarged prostate is characterized by frequent urination during day and night leading to disturbed sleep; feeling of unemptied urinary bladder even after urinating.
The condition of enlarged prostate may lead to UTI and worsen. The good thing is that sometimes symptoms and condition of enlarged prostate vanishes naturally but others require proper medical attension. Prostate cancer is on rise with elderly men; those after 50.Although the age factor involved is not conclusive. The deadly disease is characterized by severe pain during micturation due to pressing of urethra due to the cancer and hence blocking the urine flow. Prostate cancer is a slow grower. Treatments may involve radiotherapy, surgery or hormonal therapy.
Testicular cancer and Torsion of the testicle are studied under Testicular problems in men. Testicular cancer shows symptoms of swelling of scrotum and requires instant medication. It is common in men from 20 years to 45 years of age. Torsion of the testicles has symptoms of swollen testicles and severe pain in the region. This is common to age group of 15 to 30 years of age. Treatment includes surgery.
Impotence/Erectile dysfunction and sexually transmitted infections are part of sexual diseases of men and may be caused due to anxiety or stress disorders. Treatments include psychotherapy, medication of prescribed drugs.
