Leucoderma Cure

You must have seen people who have white patches on their skin. Though it looks very odd and sometimes very ugly, but it can happen to anyone. This condition is known as Leucoderma or Vitiligo and affects around 2% people in the world.

Leucoderma is a disorder that causes depigmentation of skin in either small or large patches. This happens when the cells causing skin pigmentation either die or stop functioning. Thus due to the gradual decrease in melanin, few parts of the skin start becoming white and slowly patches start appearing on the body. Research has also shown that certain environmental factors can also cause this condition.

Leucoderma is not a sexually transmitted disease. It is also not a contagious or infectious disease. So you need not worry if you come in contact with a person suffering from this disorder. This condition can occur to anybody at any time in their life. There is no specific age or factor which decides whether one will suffer from leucoderma or not. But if one develops this condition, then it can be controlled by trying some herbal remedies.

Radish has proved very effective for vitiligo patients. You can make a paste consisting of radish seeds powder and vinegar and apply the same to the affected parts of the body. Once the paste dries, simply wash off with water. Basil leaves and neem are very beneficial and the patient should be given neem juice and raw basil leaves daily. Similarly, mixing pomegranate powder with water and drinking it daily can provide positive results.

There are some restrictions on the diet of a leucoderma patient. He should avoid eating spicy and non vegetarian diet. No consumption of alcohol, cigarette and other beverages. The diet should be vegetarian with proper amount of vitamins and minerals. Existence of garlic and buttermilk in the diet daily can prove very fruitful. The patient should also consume nuts like walnuts in plenty of amount.

Depending upon the cause and severity of the disease the remedies might differ, but the above mentioned herbal remedies will definitely work for those who are in early stages of leucoderma. If the disease is very severe, it is advisable to consult a dermatologist.
