Lack Of Nutrition In Men
Not really a burning question but why is it that men are found to be less attentive towards having a diet rich in nutrition? Though the word has been spread and is no more confined just to doctor’s cabin that men’s health is a descriptive subject and needs expertise in dealing with the same. Talking in terms of statistics, 4 out of 10 deaths in men are due to diet relevant problems.
Most popular diseases that could be prevented by altering diet habits include Cancer, cardiovascular diseases, Diabetes and strokes. Small gaps in dietary deficiency of vitamins, mineral and other nutrients add up with time to only widen the hole. This obviously leads to these dreaded life-style diseases. Here is what you need to know to start with healthy daily meals.
Reduce the intake of saturated fats and Trans–fats. These are present in animal products and also in many fried and industrial manufactured chips, cookies, etc. Choose products that carry “zero trans fats”. Trans–fats are generated in products made out of Crisco and margarine as well.
Even cut down your cholesterol intake by avoiding red meat, shellfish and egg yolks. Keep regular check of your blood sugar levels and your blood pressure. Try to maintain a healthy weight range by regular exercise of at least 30 minutes. Limit your alcohol and Cigarette smoking habits as these are root cause for 80%
of men’s health disorders. Go high on veggies by including more salads with your meals and drink lots of water to flush out body generated toxins.
Even get yourself checked for osteoporosis yearly, especially if you are getting over 50. Survey says that men above 50 have greater risk for developing osteoporosis.
The concluding point is to include about 1000mg calcium in your daily diet. This can be covered by taking 8 oz of milk or 300mg of yogurt daily.
