Is Masturbation Healthy And Safe Enough?

A research conducted in Australia in 2006 revealed that men between the age group of 20 to 50 who ejaculated regularly had lower risks of developing prostate cancer. But many sexologists say that excess masturbation may cause psychological and physical damage to the person.

Health Benefits of Masturbation

Masturbation has helped many women get relief from pre menstrual syndrome (PMS). It helps in getting better sleep and has shown to reduce stress in both men and women. Just like sex, masturbation helps in releasing endorphins from the brain and provides a feeling of well being.

There is an interesting belief behind doing masturbation (by the man) before sexual intercourse when the couple is trying to conceive. Masturbations help in expelling older sperms which have lesser life.

On masturbating, these sperms are able to leave the warm scrotum and create space for production of fresh sperms. Although, just after masturbation, the sperms produced will be fewer but they will be younger, active and have longer life to cause fertilization. Fresh sperms are always a better option when any couple is trying for a baby.

Masturbation as a Therapy

Masturbation is suggested by many sexologists for treating sexual dysfunctions. Premature ejaculation can be controlled by regularly practice of masturbation. Women who are not able to achieve orgasm may practice masturbation to satisfy themselves.

Masturbation is a good way of knowing one`s own sexual needs. The more you explore your body the better you will be able to understand how you will achieve satisfaction. This helps you share with your partner about your needs and desires.

Masturbation is a safe method for self-satisfaction when you do not have a sexual partner. Additionally, it is safe enough not to lead to an unwanted pregnancy.

Side Effects of Excessive Masturbation

Doing masturbation for more than 15 times in a day is too much. Excess masturbation may cause vaginal dryness in women and painful testicles or groin in men. Common symptoms include fuzzy vision, usually feeling tired, pain in tail bone or pelvic cavity.

Excess masturbation may be a sign of sexual addiction. Do consult your doctor if you feel unsatisfied even by practising excess masturbation.
