Herbs are of utmost importance in maintaining general well being. They are rich in vitamins, mineral and other nutrients. Some may taste delicious (like mint and betel leaf), yet others may be extremely difficult to taste raw.
Nevertheless, they are extremely important and provide the body with more benefits than just one.

Use of Herbs for Good Health: Precautions and Recommendations
Herbs can be use internally and externally. Internally, they can be used in the form of tea, infusion, tinctures, gargles and mouthwashes. Externally they are commonly used in form of essential oils, herbal baths, creams, infusions and compresses.
A single herb can be used in a variety of ways. For example, the flax seeds can be used as a laxative if taken with cold water every morning and evening, but when dissolved in hot water they can be applied externally to get relief from skin infections.
Herbs should always be bought from an authentic dealer. Unless the herbs are in pure form they will not be of any use.
Another important thing is that unless the herb is not taken in the correct way they may not be beneficial. For example, the infusions (tea) are often taken when they are hot. The correct method to prepare the tea is to take 1 tbsp of the dried herb in 1 cup of water.
If fresh parts of an herb are being used to prepare an infusion then 2 tbsp should be taken for a cup of water.
Since herbs are natural medicinal products, it may be assumed by new herb users that an accidental overdose may not be of any harm. Though human bodies can easily metabolize plant constituents, some herbs can be toxic in high doses.
