How To Remove Hangover
June 12, 2009
You wake up in the morning feeling dizzy with a severe headache and a twisting stomach. That’s when you should understand that you are feeling the hangover due to consumption of alcohol last night. Many people have this habit that they get carried away when they see alcohol.
In the beginning they say that they won’t consume in excess, but then they get carried away and drink so much that they are unable to stand on their feet the next morning.
Hangovers are very irritating as you feel very helpless with a severe headache and body ache. You do not feel like doing anything and develop a lazy and fatigued feeling. In most cases, people consume painkillers to get rid of the pain instantly, but this is not the best strategy to remove a hangover. The ingredients in the painkillers can damage the kidneys which were already subjected to alcohol earlier.
Firstly, you need to understand that hangovers occur due to dehydration. Drinking excess alcohol reduces the water level in the body and causes nausea and headache. Therefore it is necessary to consume as much liquid as possible to remove hangover. Try consuming warm water mixed with lemon juice. Drinking unsweetened black tea with no milk can also be a great way to reduce the headache and intensity of a hangover.
Consume fruits like apples and bananas on an empty stomach. Preparing a milkshake of banana with honey can provide immediate relief from a hangover. Eat cereal, bread, bacon sandwich or any other food that is rich in carbohydrates. This will increase the blood sugar and bring the stomach back to normal. Bouillon soup is another effective way to remove a hangover as it helps in restoring the potassium and salt levels in the body.
So from next time onwards take care before you drink alcohol. Keep sipping orange juice during your drinks and consume lot of water prior to drinking. This will prevent the occurrence of hangover. And try to drink less, no matter what the occasion is. After all your health is very important and only you can take good care of it!
