How To Fight Winter Ailments?

As winter approaches it brings cold, flu, cough, sore throat or may be all four together. It happens because of lack of sunlight which weakens the immune system that helps viruses to survive in the body more than as compared to summer season.

So whenever you go out in winters wrap yourself nicely and get as much sunlight as you need.

Some simple homemade things could help a lot in overcoming these winter ailments.

For sore throat you can have warm water with honey and lemon juice in it. You can add ginger to it. This would sooth your throat. Gargle with aloe vera juice 3 to 4 times in a day. You can have tea with ginger in it.

For cough you can have chopped garlic mixed with honey and black pepper. Take this and the cough would subside. You can inhale a drop of thyme oil on a hanky or in some hot boiling water with steam. Thymine tea can also be drunk as this helps to relax the lungs and reduces coughing.

One should avoid dairy products, fried foods. This promotes the production of mucus and causes cough. When you sleep keep your head slightly high than rest of your body. This would clear your nasal passage and you would cough less.

For cold and flu you can try this. Boil two crushed cloves of garlic with half spoon of turmeric and sip it slowly. Drink apple and grape juice as both are beneficial for these symptoms. Gargling is also said to be beneficial.

If you are suffering from blocked nose then you should have a spicy meal as this would give you relief from congestion. Taking stem is also beneficial for this but do not forget to put either tea tree oil or basil oil. Take some massage with oil and put a drop of tea tree oil or basil oil and rub in on your chest as this is also very much beneficial.

One should have hot soup and if you are non-vegetarian then clear chicken soup is beneficial for all the winter ailments. Drinking juices rich in vitamin C would also keep you away from all the ailments.
