How To Color Hair At Home

Hair coloring is not just trendy but it helps in covering grey hair with perfection. With a few basic tips and right precautions you can excel in coloring your hair in the very comfort of your home.

To start with, choose a branded product. If you are trying to color your hair for the first time, do not choose such a color which will bring drastic color change to your hair. Also, choose a shade that is suitable to your skin complexion. Golden and reds suit well on slightly darker complexion.

Be prepared with your accessories. Gather water in tumbler, towel, comb (to make sections of hair), gloves and special silver foil to keep color in the hair, in one place.

Procedure

Read the instructions on the package. Follow them strictly. This is because not all brands will require the same amount of time to achieve desired results.  You may perform test on artificial hair that matching your hair type to know the quantity you should use to get results as per your desire.

Put on gloves before starting anything. Prepare the color solution is a non-reacting plastic bowl. This is done by mixing the formula to a developer. Although, there are certain brand that provide preparations ready to be applied on the hair.

Make sure your hair are dry and without excess oil. Preferably, wash your hair and dry them completely before application of color. Do not color the hair on the same day they have been washed.

Make sections using a comb and clip them. Starting from middle of the hair apply color on each section and cover it with silver foil so that sections do not touch each other.

Keep till the time suggested on the package and then wash with water. Wash with enough water until rinsed water comes out clear. Do not shampoo the hair immediately. It will damage the luster of the shade.

Also, when you wash your hair the next day use only those shampoo and conditioners which are specially made for colored hair care. Coloring will make your hair dry. Apply a deep conditioner. Most brands provide a time hair conditioner with the coloring kit.
