May 22, 2009
It has been seen recently that women in their mid 20’s start looking older due to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on their face. Their facial skin sags and looks dull, there are dark under eye circles which steal the beauty of a woman from her face. This process is known as early aging and is caused by many factors like environmental, hormonal and improper lifestyle. The most irritating experience any woman would have is the appearance of dark under eye circles or crows feet.
Crows feet are fine wrinkles that appear on the outer corners of the eyes. These are the first wrinkles that appear on a woman’s face and if not treated in the early stages, they may become prominent making the face lose its charm and smoothness. The most common cause for crows feet is exposure to sun. It needs to be noted that the skin surrounding our eyes is around 10 times more sensitive and thin than the skin on our face. The sensitivity of the skin around our eyes makes it vulnerable to many reactions and hence it is the first to show the wrinkles and fine lines.
Apart from sun exposure, smoking, drinking alcohol, unhealthy diet, improper lifestyle, sleeping late night also causes Crows feet. Especially in women, crows feet can also occur after menopause as a result of hormonal changes. The best way to stay young forever is by taking good care of your skin and most importantly the skin around our eyes because that is the skin which shows early signs of aging.
To avoid crows feet, make sure you apply a strong sunscreen lotion with a high SPF whenever you move outdoors. Wear large sunglasses that cover not only your eyes but also the surrounding skin. If you stay indoors, keep the under eye area moisturized by using gentle lotions or creams. You may also use under eye creams that are rich in glycolic acid or Vitamin C. While working on your computer, rest your eyes at regular intervals and do not focus on the screen for a long time as this will cause fatigue to your eyes. Do not consume alcohol and cigarettes. Follow a healthy lifestyle and sleeping pattern and always stay away from crows feet.
