Hot Flushes in Woman

Every woman at a certain age reaches menopause. Different women have different symptoms. Some experience insomnia, some have joint pains and many more. The symptoms differ from woman to woman. There is no explanation for all these symptoms.
What is it?
Hot flush is another symptom experienced by woman undergoing menopause. As the name suggests, it is a felling of warmth in the body. Mainly head and neck are affected.
Causes
They are said to be some hormonal and chemical reactions that take place inside the body. Hot flush is accompanied by perspiration and lasts from few seconds to few minutes. Sometimes sleeping becomes difficult with these symptoms.
Treatment
Doctors treat these hot flashes by giving some hormonal shots, which if given in excess may cause various other problems like cancers.
Home Remedies
There are certain home remedies for these hot flushes.
Eat food rich in phytoestrogens like soya foods. Vitamin E should also be included in your diet. These supplements like soya milk, soya flour, tofu should be taken at least once in a day. Herbal teas have also been proven good for hot flushes.
Woman suffering from hot flashes should sip cold herbal teas throughout the day. These herbs balance the hormone levels in the body and hence help in treating hot flushes. If you are diabetic then control your sugar levels to reduce the affect from hot flashes.
During menopause take extra calcium as decrease in bone mass takes place during this time. Including sex in your life also reduces hot flushes.
Try some relaxing techniques like yoga and deep breathing exercises. For the very first step drink a cool glass of water. Remember to drink more of water during this period. Do not wear extra tight clothes, wear only cotton clothes. Do not sit in stuffy rooms, which can make the condition worse at that time. Avoid stress as it can trigger hot flushes.
One should avoid hot things like caffeine, alcohol etc that increases the affect of hot flushes. Smoking should also be avoided.
