Honey: A Healer
Honey is very useful in many aspects. Honey is a precious food, tool and healer. When one uses honey then only he or she comes to know the actual benefits of it.
Uses of honey can be summarized as: it helps to block the growth of bacteria, coats the throat and reduces irritation, is useful in treating burns, also helps to heal the wound when applied on them, also contain sugars and minerals that are low in calories and hence is useful for people with diabetes and overweight.
Honey can be given to the children above the age of one. When honey is mixed in warm milk it soothes the baby and help him in sleeping. Honey also serves as a good laxative for those who remain constipated.
Honey can also be used in baking dishes. When honey is used rather than other sugars, the things baked do not get hard easily. This is because honey absorbs and retains moisture.
Honey is also good for treating cough. Mix chopped onions, honey and a little brown sugar in two pints of water. Let it be on flame for some time. Then cool it and pour in a jar. Take three to four spoons in a day. In cough and congestion mix honey and ginger and consume daily.
Mix honey with carrot juice and take it daily. This helps in improving eyesight and so it is good for people who work on computer for long.
Honey in a glass of warm water drinking daily in the morning helps to reduce the fat and also purifies the blood. Use of honey with garlic helps to control the blood pressure.
People who love honey can also take them as a spread on bread and also warm milk with it. You would enjoy it. Taking one spoon of honey daily would help you lead a healthy and long life.
