Gas is a natural phenomenon that occurs to every human being. The air that we swallow while eating results in the formation of gas. It is also formed due to the breakdown of undigested food by some harmless bacteria in our stomach. Some people also experience pain in the stomach and abdomen.
It has been observed that every person passes gas at least 10 times in a day. Usually, gas is made up of odorless vapor that include carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen and methane. Though gas is not a disorder, but it can put you in an uncomfortable and unpleasant position. It can also cause you embarrassment, if you happen to pass the gas before someone that has a stinking smell. Let us discuss some home remedies for gas that can help you in preventing such unpleasant times.
First of all, you should have proper control over your diet. You should quit unhealthy eating habits and take your lunch and dinner on time. Avoid eating products that contain high amount of fiber such as cabbage, watermelon, beans, etc. Also try to avoid dairy products including milk, tea and caffeine.
Ginger is the magical cure for people suffering from gas problems. No matter how you consume it, make it a point to consume it as much as possible. Eat it in the raw form or add ginger slices to your vegetables and salads. Mix ginger extract with warm water and consume it at least five times a day.
Other effective remedies could include eating papaya, parsley, celery seeds and coriander seeds. Peppermint is also very effective in relieving gas and can be had in tea or with warm water. You can even massage your stomach with or without oil. This will lead to quick passage of the gas and provide immediate relief.
All these remedies help in removing the gas and the related pain. So it is quite possible that after trying these remedies, you might experience a heavy flow of air coming out. Therefore do not panic with the sudden outburst of gas as it is an indication that soon you will feel lighter and relaxed.
