Home Remedies For Constipation

Constipation is a common condition that occurs due to disturbance of the digestive tract. This condition causes incomplete of infrequent movement of the bowels and sometimes results in the formation of hard stools. A person suffering from constipation experiences a lot of difficulties during the bowel movement as the hard stools give a painful experience.

Due to infrequent bowel movement, the toxins are not cleared from the body and this result in the occurrence of other disorders. Acidity, indigestion of food, high blood pressure, fever, arthritis, appendicitis, etc. are some of the health disorders that occur due to constipation.

The causes of constipation include improper or incomplete chewing of food, consuming a diet that is low in fiber and high in proteins, low intake of water, irregular meals, unhealthy lifestyle, lack of exercise and faulty digestive system. Constipation can also occur if a person holds back the stools when they should have been released.

Anxiety, fear of something and medications can also cause dehydration leading to constipation. Since constipation can be controlled using some natural home remedies, consumption of medicines should be avoided as they can worsen the condition.

Consumption large amount of liquids in the form of water or juices is very beneficial in treating constipation. Diet comprising of potatoes, cabbage, papaya, carrot, sugarcane and tomatoes proves effective in curing constipation as it contains a lot of fiber and facilitates the bowel movement.

Try to avoid all the food materials which are made from rice; instead use the ones made from wheat. Mix the juice of a lemon to a glass of warm water and consume it early morning on an empty stomach.

Engage in some physical activities like walking, swimming or running and try stretching exercises. This will help in easy digestion and avoid formation of hard stools. People suffering from severe constipation should try using figs. Soak some fig seeds in water and let them stand for a night. Then consume those soaked seeds in the morning and this will immediately provide relief from constipation.
