Homemade Body Wraps
Body wraps are as effective as expensive they are. Homemade body wraps are possible but some basics must be followed to get the spa effect in the comfort of your home.
Get at least 5 clean towels. You may put on the blower to make a constant temperature in your room. Keep water to drink nearby as you must consume more fluids and water before, during and after the body wrap treatment.
Here are some of the basic body wraps that you may try at home. To enjoy body wrap along with a hint of aromatherapy for that extra relaxation, light on aroma candles, preferably, lavender. Combine 2 tbsp of olive oil with few drops of carrot seed oil and peppermint.
Massage on this oil to your body. Place 3 blankets (for thermal effect) on your bed. Take the softest blanket and warm it. The blanket can be warmed in tumble dryer. Wrap yourself up this blanket; the oils will act as your ingredients for the purpose.
Herbs like calendula, lavender and chamomile have amazing healing properties. To a bucket of very warm water, add these herbs, by choice, and let then release their components into the water. Wait for 10 mins. Dip a large towel of your body size into this water, wring it and wrap it around your body.
Lie down for 15 mins on warm blankets placed and relax. For complete body cleansing and detoxification, bentonite and clay can be used for oily skin. Those having extra sensitive skin, pink kaolin are a good choice.
The absorbent of choice can be applied to the skin, mixed with essential oils and applied all over the body. Plastic wraps can be used to wrap up the body to provide thermal heat.
Room temperature must be kept warm. Another point of caution is to always use distilled water for doing body wraps.
