Gas is one of the common problems that trouble many people. Though gas is not a major disorder but it can embarrass you if it passes out at the wrong place and at the wrong time.
Usually gas accumulates in the body and if it is not able to find its way out, then it cause many problems like stomach ache, acidity, etc. There are many remedies for gas removal, but in this article we will discuss about some simple exercises that can help you get rid of gas naturally.
Lie flat on the ground on your back. Bring your right foot near your chest while you breathe. Once the knee touches your chest, hold this position for ten seconds. Now slowly lower your right leg and repeat the same steps with your left leg. While doing this, you will experience the passage of gas. Alternatively, you can also try this exercise with both the feet touching the chest at the same time.
Another effective exercise is by kneeling on a flat ground. Kneel on your knees in such a position that your feet stay close to each other. Try to keep your hips in the air and head downwards. Stay in this position for a while until gas starts passing out. If this exercise doesn’t work, then try to exert some pressure while breathing – holding the same position. With a few passes, all the gas will move out.
You can also try the flat bicycle exercise for removing gas. Lay flat on the floor on your back and uplift your legs upwards to such an extent that your hips do not touch the ground. Now, imagine that you are riding a bicycle and try to push the legs in the air, pedaling for about 15 minutes. This is one of the oldest and most effective exercises as it creates a spiral movement in the stomach due to this cycling act and triggers the passage of the gas.
Other exercises like running, walking, jumping and stretching can also prove beneficial. If you are sleeping then try to sleep on your left side and continue this position till morning. When you wake up in the morning, you will feel very empty as all the gas would have passed out.
