Hip Exercises for Women

Maintaining a slim and trim figure is beneficial from a health point of view and from the physical point of view as well. And women need to look appropriate so that they appear attractive as well as receive praises for their toned body.

Unlike men, when women suffer from excess weight, it gets deposited in their thighs and hips. After considerable weight is gained, the hips appear very distorted and ugly. Due to such a bad state of their hips, many women avoid wearing bikinis when they are on a beach or are swimming. Bad hips should definitely be treated as early as possible as it not only presents a bad sight but also poses health hazards.

There are many exercises which can help

. Though many people would advise to visit a gym to attain early positive results, I would suggest some simple exercises that can be practiced at home. Any woman can perform them irrespective of her age and profession and still achieve a flat and well toned butt.

Squats are the best exercises to achieve toned hips and are fairly simple to perform. Once you have enough practice with simple squats, you should go for wide stance squat. In this exercise, place your feet at least shoulder width apart and perform the normal squats. This exercise will tone up the muscles of the hips, thighs and the calf region.

Walking on an inclined surface for 30 minutes will help you in shedding the extra pounds from your hips. Doing this exercise will provide much faster results than any other exercise as you try to cover distance by opposing the gravitational force, thus exerting more pressure which burns more calories. If there is no inclined road nearby, try inclining your treadmill by 20 degrees and walk for 30 minutes. This activity will provide similar results.

Lunges, Step Ups and Hip extensions also provide considerable toning of the butt. Other exercises such as jumping, cycling, running, kickboxing, hiking and swimming can be performed along with the regular exercises to achieve better results.
