Herbal Remedies For Mouth Ulcers

The bark of Ficus religiosa (Banyan) is used to prepare a decoction which brings relief in pain. Constipation may also be a cause for causing mouth ulcers. Liqourice or Mulethi is well known for its dental and flavoring properties. Found in every Indian household, Mulethi can be chewed as it is for sore throat or mouth inflammation. It has been used as a medicine in cough and cold preparations and also in treatment of mouth ulcers. It is very effective for sores developed due to ulcers.
Turmeric or Haldi provides cooling effect to the ulcer sores. A suspension made of turmeric and water is used for gargling in order to treat mouth ulcers.
