Herbal Remedies For Mouth Ulcers

Is spicy red chilly unconsciously setting your mouth on fire with pain? Worry no more as Indian herb provide you complete relief from troublesome mouth ulcers.

The bark of Ficus religiosa (Banyan) is used to prepare a decoction which brings relief in pain. Constipation may also be a cause for causing mouth ulcers. Chebulic myroblan, a component of Triphla, is helpful in decreasing pain during the ulcers. The bark of this plant is used for this purpose. Since constipation is another reason for causing mouth ulcers, this preparation brings relief to constipation as well.

Some people have problem of recurrent ulcers. Fenugreek leaves can be used in such a condition. A mixture of fenugreek leaves in water is used to perform gargling. It is one of the strong remedies for mouth ulcers.

Henna, to be used with caution, is used as a soothing herb for ulcers. It is also used in the form of gargles.

Indian gooseberry provides additional remedy in mouth ulcers. It not just decreases the pain but also deals with constipation problem. Amalaki is also used as gargles.

Katha or Acacia catechu is a popular ingredient in Paan. In form of paste, it is applied on ulcers or other inflammation conditions of mouth. It provides great relief and has been known to exist as a traditional medicinal herb since centuries.

Liqourice or Mulethi is well known for its dental and flavoring properties. Found in every Indian household, Mulethi can be chewed as it is for sore throat or mouth inflammation. It has been used as a medicine in cough and cold preparations and also in treatment of mouth ulcers. It is very effective for sores developed due to ulcers.

Turmeric or Haldi provides cooling effect to the ulcer sores. A suspension made of turmeric and water is used for gargling in order to treat mouth ulcers.
