Go Straight this Season

March 30, 2009

The cascade of long black hair seems to be continuing this season too. Instead of getting hair colored or rolling on the curls, getting the hair straightened is really in.  The process is called rebonding and must only be done by a thorough professional for best results. Moreover, since the procedure is expensive, make sure you are really ready for it.

It takes anything around 5 to 7 hours for the complete treatment of rebonding. The process is called so since the natural bond of the hair is changed from wavy or curly into absolutely manageable straight silky hair. Therefore, be prepared to sit for all these long hours at a stretch and if possible, keep a friend along.

It starts with shampooing of the hair to get rid of any possible oil in her.  This is followed by blow drying and making the hair straight with thermal starighners. Don’t  mind course handling of the hair during straightening since this is what will make the results special.

The hairs are parted in small portions and the rebonding crème is applied on them. A board is used to keep the hair straight. It is allowed to work for 1 hour. The hairs are washed again. Left for a while to breathe and then blow dried. Once again they are made straight using straighteners.

The straightening is what will take most of the time of treatment. Afterwards, a neutralizer is applied in order to provide healing to any possible damages to the hair during the treatment. It is kept for minimum 30 minutes. Expert believes that this step is can be continued for 40 minutes to achieve best results. It adds shine and softness to the hair.

For the last time, hair are washed again and made straight with straighteners. The results are visible now. Finishing touches are done by applying hair serum and combing gently.
