Men and women are different when it comes to body structure, mentality and psychological factors. Both of them perform different tasks and have different levels of fitness and consumption levels.
Men are known to be more active than women when it comes to physical labor, and hence their diet should be such that it compliments their daily activities. Every man, irrespective of his age, physical build and profession should consume proper diet to keep himself fit and healthy.
Unlike woman, who develop certain deficiencies either during their pregnancy or after menopause, men are lucky enough not to develop any deficiencies. But that does not mean that men are immune to deficiencies.
If proper diet consisting of essential nutrients is not consumed on a daily basis, then anyone can get ill and have health problems. Let us look at some foods that every man should consume to lead a healthy and energetic life.
1. Spinach: Spinach is known as the ultimate man food. Though it appears green and leafy, but it is known to be a biceps builder. Rich in iron, Vitamin A, folate and lutein, spinach helps in strengthening the immune system and prevents the risk of heart diseases and osteoporosis.
2. Broccoli: Broccoli is a popular salad ingredient and a rich source of fiber that helps in fighting cancer. It is recommended that every man should consume at least 25 grams of fiber daily as it offers multiple health benefits.
3. Berries: Similar to the vegetables, fruits are also essential and play a vital role in helping men stay healthy. Blueberries are one of the fruits that should be consumed on a regular basis by every man. It is rich in antioxidants that help in preventing cancer, diabetes and age related disorders.
4. Walnuts: Dry fruits such as almonds and walnuts are rich in omega-3s and protein. They also consist of anti-inflammatory poly phenols and help in muscle building and strengthening the immune system.
5. Milk: Everyone drinks milk during their childhood but often discards it after that as it is thought to be a children’s drink. But this is a misconception and should be avoided. Milk is rich in Vitamin D and calcium and every man should drink at least one glass of milk daily to keep age related worries at bay and lead a healthy life.
