Cardiovascular diseases are one such group of lifestyle diseases which may occur to any age group. Since prevention is better than cure, here are certain foods which will help you have a healthier heart and may prevent occurrence of possible heart problems.

Mixture of one part of curd and 3 parts of water when taken with meals, helps in thinning of the blood and thus improves blood circulation in the body. Additionally, it hardly has any fat which makes it a healthy drink option.

The cold water fish salmon is a great source of omega3-fatty acids and proteins. Omega 3 fatty acids are a powerful antioxidant which helps in keeping heart healthy by fighting all free radicals. It tastes good and is easy to cook. Doctors suggest eating foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids twice a week.

Blueberries are good for boosting your immune system and stretching body to fight against most dieses. The blue color of the fruit is due to presence of anthrocyanins. These chemicals are powerful antioxidants. They are good source of vitamin C and fibers. Being a fruit, you may eat them as snacks anytime anywhere. They taste best when cold. You may add them in your salads and as topping to your ice-cream.

Soy protein provides you with lower triglycerides which are known to keep the heart healthy. Soy is a good source of vitamins, polyunsaturated fats (good fats), fibers and minerals. A tasty and healthy way to relish soy is as nuggets, tofu and in soups.

Spinach is one complete grew leafy vegetable. It is source of many phytochemicals, minerals and vitamins that help to maintain good functioning of the heart.

Oats are not just good for your heart but they help you in being over-all fit. A daily breakfast of oats will help in lowering the cholesterol and will nourish the body with vitamins and minerals.
