Flatulence: Cause And Remedies
Flatulence reflects digestive problems. This often occurs with people who face digestive problems due to some kind of tolerance towards food, for example lactose tolerance. Because of this the food remains undigested and shifts to the large intestine.
Frequent flatulence is embarrassing. Flatulence is made of up gases like nitrogen, hydrogen, methane, carbon dioxide and oxygen. The pungent smell is due to reaction amongst these gases.

Home Remedies
Take some amount of rock salt and fenugreek seeds. Crush them together and consume. This is said to bring immediate relief to flatulence.
Those who face this problem more frequently roast some seeds of ajowan in a pan so that they become reddish brown. Pour in two cups of water (for 1 tbsp ajowan) and allow it to boil and then reduce to half the original volume. Allow it to cool down. Drink this solution every day any time of the day.
After every meal make a point to eat a small quantity of jaggery. Jaggery aids in digestion and is said to ease abdominal stress. Likewise, one can consume some fennel seeds after every meal.
Drinking herbal tea made of tulsi (basil leaf) and fennel seeds are equally effective. Lime juice is also helpful.
Prevention
One needs to avoid junk foods, especially the ones which are fried and peppery in taste. Always chew your food thoroughly so that digestion is easier. Food made using charcoal is said to be good for those who face problem of flatulence frequently.
Consume fruits as snacks in between the meals. Eat smaller meals but take them more frequently. Dairy products often increase flatulence. Decrease drinking milk and see if there is any change.
There are certain vegetables that cause flatulence. These include carrots, eggplant, cabbage, cucumbers, prunes, bananas, broccoli, turnips and bran.
Use of fennel seeds, garlic and sunflower oil in food increases chances of flatulence. Carbonated beverages must be avoided. Beer my produce pungent hydrogen sulfide and thus cause flatulence.
It is important to keep your colon clean to avoid flatulence. Weekly detoxification with fruits and herbal teas may just do the trick.
