Few Steps Towards Dandruff Free Hair

Dandruff, also known as Pityriasis capitis, is a condition in which the scalp becomes flaky and itchy.

The first and the foremost step towards getting rid of dandruff is to stop using hair products like hairsprays and hair gels because these products dry the skin, hence the scalp gets flaky. You must also quit washing your hair with too warm water.

Second step towards fighting dandruff is frequent shampooing of hair as dandruff happens on oily hair. Wash your hair everyday with shampoo including five ingredients approved by FDA. These include, i.e. salicylic acid, coal-tar, pyrithione zinc, selenium sulfide, and sulfur.

Application of apple cider vinegar on scalp is good way to treat dandruff. Taking one fourth cup of apple cider vinegar mixed in three fourths cup of water. Apply the mixture on scalp and rinse thoroughly with warm water. It will help flake off the dandruff on the scalp.

Fresh limejuice does wonders in fighting against dandruff. Apply 1 tablespoon of limejuice on the scalp just before the final rinse. It will leave your hair dandruff free and will give a natural glow to your hair.

Paste of overnight soaked fenugreek seeds in water is another very good remedy for dandruff treatment. Apply the paste all over the scalp and keep it for half an hour. Then wash your hair with preferably ritha solution or shikakai.

Another great treatment for dandruff is the application of tea tree oil and Listerine. Dip a cotton ball in Listerine and apply it over the scalp with the help of the same cotton ball. Repeat this several times a day.

Healthy balanced diet works a lot in treating dandruff. The diet you have should be rich in zinc and vitamin B. Healthy way of living can help prevent many problems and dandruff is one of them. So eat healthy, live healthy, and say no to dandruff.
