Shatavari is part of major herbal tonics and is especially taken by many women everyday. It is known as the Queen of Herbs in Ayurvedic medicinal tradition.

The herbs carry bioflavonoid which is well known for their wide range of medicinal properties. Shatavari is a good source of zinc and calcium minerals and it also provides B-complex vitamins.

Shatavari is the master herb for all menstrual problems. Ayurvedic medications depend on this herb to treat all form of female sex organs. It helps in complete treatment of amenorrhea, leucorrhea and Dysmennorhea.

It also relieves hot flashes during menstrual problems. Shatavari enhances the production of estrogen and thus helps women in maintaining optimal health. With age, the estrogen levels in women start to decrease. It may become a reason for early menopause. Oophorectomies and hystereomies are also consequences of decreased estrogen levels in women.

It has therefore been used as the herb to heal PMS. The multiple symptoms of PMS, like bloating, excess bleeding, mood swing can all be treated with regular treatment of Shatavari. It acts to immune system by boosting the production of macrophages. It is especially beneficial in preventing Candida infection. It also helps in enhancing the libido.

The literary meaning of Shatavari id a hundred husbands. It is simply incredible in maintaining reproductive health of women. The ova produced are much healthier. If women are experiencing problems with breast feeding, like less secretion of milk, they must supplement with Shatavari and see affects for themselves. It is a complete tonic for female reproductive system and related organs.

Additionally, Shatavari is used to treat inflammation that may occur in internal walls of lungs and heart. Due to it’s anti-inflammatory properties, it is used to treat chronic fever. Shatavari is slightly diuretic in nature and aids in providing relief in intestinal and gall bladder infections.
